Hello All!

First I'd like to show you our new fish, Mike Fisher. Wendy, our first fish, went to the big fishbowl in the sky. So we got ourselves a little baby betta.

He's super active and LOVES people...and very colourful! He's fun so far.

Other news. Shawna got work! I work in the Canucks team store AND with the in house entertainment, camera assisting and training on the Duet (graphics). Very cool!! not steady work, but work nonetheless :D

David's mom is coming to visit next week. and I have my big run!!!! My heel is getting good treatment so I expect to be able to run it no problem!

Autumn

Well we're past the one year mark! only 11 months till wedded bliss!

David is happily working away at his job at the box office on Granville Island. Shawna left Starbucks for greener pastures and is spending some time applying and interviewing for jobs she actually likes!

It's become quite rainy here, makes you really miss all the sun from the summer!

We're on the hunt for a new church that is a better fit for us, which is ok. We settled too soon when we got here and are eager to find a church with great community and more youth.

New photos are up from the fall! We did a little bit of travelling and we both had birthdays!

That's all the news for now. I'm sure David would have more interesting things to say..but he's too cool for school

bye!

September!

Hello everyone!!

Great news!

David got a job!! He started last week with the Arts Club Theatre on Granville Island! Full time! HURRRAAAY! We're very happy.

I've had some interviews and some work here and there which is good, and not Starbucks, which is better. Hopefully something full time comes along very soon :D

The wedding is almost in a year!! Can you believe it! Planning is going awesome since I quit. David is definitely much better at it then I am. We'll be spending Thanksgiving with my cousin and their family. Hurray! We wanted to go to Victoria, but it just wasn't meant to be.

I signed up for a French class, but it turns out I was much too advanced for it...so now I have to wait until January for the advanced class. But my 5K running course starts Monday so there is something new for me to do :D

Also, I like the CFL now....so here's hoping to get to some games.
We bought tickets to see the Senators when they are here in March! VERY exciting!!!! But so far away.

Anyway, I think that's all the update for now!

Thanks for readin!

Church on the ocean

Hello Hello!!

Not much new in the way of our life...David still looking for work, and me still waiting on time passing about work. Same OLD.

I (Shawna) quit planning the wedding. David took over and is already doing much better. Yay!

I took some photos with my phone of the amazing church service we had this morning on the ocean. ON THE OCEAN. This city is unbelievable

So Amazing....that's the Kits pool...a POOL on the ocean!! Awesome.

They also baptized three people in the ocean. Very awesome. I still have to post my baptism video... which I will get around to. But for now. Here is David's!

A more detailed update

Well.
We have finally moved into the new apartment. Pretty nifty if you ask me. Apart from feeling very ill for the last few days, things are going insanely well. A little too well if you ask me. *insert shifty eye here* Ok. I'm actually not all that suspicious. Not to say that our life in Victoria sucked (because it didn't) but we both had out fair share of troubles in the past year. Some together, and some apart, so it shouldn't come as a total surprise that God has kinda given us a pretty decent time in Vancouver thus far. (I know, it's only been a week. But what can you do!?!)

Ok. Here's the poop

The place
Is awesome. When we first showed up, it was small. We were really worried about cramming all our Stuff into this place. But as the boxes got unpacked, we started to realize that this might work. As of today we are down to One box I believe - outside of the ones that are going into storage once that room is available to us - so that's pretty good. We finally put up all our paintings (Courtesy of Megan and Sarah Pee) and all our picture frames and stuff. I do believe they add a lot to the place. So that's good. Shawna claims that my cooking has drastically improved in the new (Half) Kitchen surroundings, so I guess that's a good thing. As I type this, I am sitting on the balcony (yay) looking out at the water and really feeling like we are happy with the place we chose. So Score one for the good guys (Us.)

The life
So far life has been pretty relaxed. I mean, it's been mostly, unpacking settling in, buying furniture, moving things, exploring the neighborhood, et all. As of yet, I am unemployed but I have many applications and resumes floating around out there. One of which is for a (misnamed) job as a Children's Pastor. Really, it's just someone to run the Kids Ministry. In short its a little bit of what I did at the PLace Kidz. So, all you Christian types (you know who you are) you can pray that I get that job. That would be ideal. Of course what is ideal for me is usually what is the least ideal for God. Maybe it will further his kingdom to have me pumping gas, or checking groceries... I don't see how, but what do I know, right!

Shawna, on the other hand, has good news. She has been offered a (tentative) position with the Vancouver Canucks on their in-house editing team. This is a hgue opportunity for her - since she would love to make a career in the sports industry. She has cautioned me that it is tentative, and later on in the week more details should be known. Until then. Think happy thoughts people.

Random Things
Thoroughly upset with Shaw. They were supposed to come set-up services today, I have been here all day. They never showed up. Then told us it was our fault because we didn't pick up the buzzer. So we have to wait ANOTHER week (they made us wait a week once already) Well, I was here all day. They lie. Anyway, they said they would call us back, they never did. So, off to Telus we go. turns out, at the same price, we can get the NHL Network and a bunch of cool stuff on TV with them. So. We go with them. We end up waiting either way, but I think this is the smarter road to take.

Other than that, things are just fine and dandy. You guys should come visit. Seriously. Come visit!

Much love to ya'll!

Pictures are on their way, I promise!

A way for our friends and family from near and far to stay tuned to our goings on!!!

In recent news:

We just moved to Vancouver and are working out way through the mountains of boxes and clothing. It's going really well!! I (Shawna) start work on Monday and David begins hunting the town for employment. Hopefully I'm not with Starbucks for too much longer though....really need to find a real job!!!

We'll post photos of the place as soon as we're done unpacking though! It's awesome!!!1
